KUCHING: It was truly an overwhelming support when hundreds turned up donning red T-shirt with complimentary red heart-shaped balloons during the celebration of the World Heart Day 2015 last Sunday at Reservoir Park, here.
People gathered as early as 6.00am to show their unwavering support to the campaign’s cause in raising a much more widespread awareness of the dangers of heart disease and to promote a healthier lifestyle at the same time.
Present was Chief Minister’s wife, Datin Patinggi Dato’ Hajah Jamilah Haji Anu who graced the celebration by cutting and flying off similar heart-shaped balloons. She also led the ‘Heart Walk’ after declaring open the ceremony.
The World Heart Day is also celebrated simultaneously in Miri and Kuala Lumpur as it is a worldwide campaign.
